SCHEDULE, STRUCTURE AND PRIZE​
2.1. Definition of Terms​
2.1.1. Game. An instance of competition on the map designated by MPL Latam that is played until a winner is determined by one of the following methods, whichever occurs first: (a) completion of the final objective (destruction of a base), (b) Team Surrender, (c) Team Disqualification, or (d) MPL Operating Committee deems a team has won.​
2.1.2. Match. A set of Games that is played until one Team wins the majority of the total Games (e.g., winning two Games out of three ("BO3"); winning three Games out of five ("BO5"). The winning Team will either receive a win tally in a league format or advance to the next round in a tournament format.​
2.1.3. Season. There will be [2] seasons every year. Each season will consist of two phases:​
2.1.3.1. Regular Season;​
2.1.3.2. Playoffs.​
2.1.4. BO1 | BO2 | BO3 | BO5 | BO7 - Determination of the maximum amount of Games that categorizes a match, such as the minimum amount of wins per Game to define the winning team of the Match;​

BO1 - Best-of-One - Match with just one Game. The winner will be the team that wins the only Game;​

BO2 - Best-of-two - Match with two games. The winner will be the team that wins two games. If both teams win a game it will be a draw;​

BO3 - Best-of-Three - Match with up to three Games. The winner will be the team that wins two Games;​
◦
BO5 - Best-of-Five - Match with up to five Games. The winner will be the team that wins three Games.​

BO7 - Best-of-Seven - Match with up to seven Games. The winner will be the team that wins four games.​
2.1.5. Round - Group of matches (Matches or Games, depending on the Stage) that happen simultaneously, where teams face each other, and there will always be a losing team and a winning team.​
2.1.6. Simple Elimination Bracket - Format in which teams will be paired according to the specific criteria of each Phase, so that the winning team advances to the next round and the losing team is eliminated from the League.​
2.1.7. Double Elimination Bracket - Format in which the teams will be paired according to the specific criteria of each Phase, so that the winning team advances to the next round through the Upper Bracket  and the losing team, if this is their first defeat, is relocated to the Lower Bracket. Once in the Lower Bracket, the team will have a second chance to advance to the next round, but a defeat in this bracket implies that the losing team will be eliminated from the League.​
2.1.8. Swiss Style Bracket - Format in which the teams will be paired with an opponent with the same record as them based upon the previous rounds results adjusted, so teams can't play each other twice during this phase. 8 Teams advance to the next phase and 8 are eliminated.​
2.2. Full Schedule​
2.2.1. Season 3 Open Qualifiers: February 8 and 9​
2.2.2. Season 3 Closed Invitational: February 17 to 24​
2.2.3. Season 3 Roster Deadline for Qualified Team: February 28​
2.2.4. Season 3 Regular Season: March 15 to March 30​
2.2.5. Season 3 Relegation Matches: April 19 and 20 ​
2.2.6. Season 3 Playoffs Matches: May 10 to May 18​
2.2.7. Season 3 Grand Final: May 31​
2.2.8. Season 4 Roster Deadline for Invited Teams: September 4​
2.2.09. Season 4 Regular Season: September 27 to October 12​
2.2.10. Season 4 Playoffs Matches: October 18 to November 02 ​
2.2.11. Season 4 Grand Final: November 15 ​
2.3. Regular Season Structure​
2.3.1. There are 8 teams in total for the regular season. The format will be Swiss Style Bracket. This format has 5 (five) rounds and, every round after Round 1, the teams can be paired with an opponent with the same record (In some situations, it will not be possible for teams with the same record to face each other). ​
2.3.2. Matches of this phase will be Bo3 and each team needs to WIN 3 matches to classified directly to the playoffs - second phase. The teams who LOST 3 matches will need to play the playoffs - first phase.​
2.3.4. To determine the seeds for matches of Round 1, teams will be evaluated according to their roster and last season. The priority will be based on the rules below:​

Teams that maintain three (3) starting players from the previous season shall automatically be granted a higher seed than those retaining only two or one starting player.​
▪
Organizations that acquire three players from another team shall be granted a higher seed than those retaining only two or one starting player. This rule does not apply to organizations that violate the poaching rule.​
If it is not possible to determine the seed of a team with the rules above, MPL Latam officials may define it randomly or at their sole and exclusive discretion."​
2.3.5. Rounds Structure​

First Round​

The initial match-ups will be defined by a live draw on discord where we will have the 4 highest seeds on one side of the draw and the 4 lowest seeds on the other. To define the seeds, we will use the criteria in rule 2.3.4.​

Second Round​

Division into 2 groups:​
•
4 Teams with a score of 1:0 ("High") - Bo3 Matches​
•
4 Teams with a score of 0:1 ("Low") - Bo3 Matches​
•
Each team is drawn an opponent they have not played yet from their group​

Third Round​
▪
Division into 3 groups:​
•
2 Teams with a score of 2:0 ("High") - Bo5 Match​
•
4 Teams with a score of 1:1 ("Mid") - Bo3 Matches​
